Questions about Americans for Prosperity Action.
What is Americans for Prosperity Action?
Americans for Prosperity Action (AFP Action) is the federal super PAC arm of Americans for Prosperity, the Koch-network political organization originally founded by industrialist brothers Charles Koch and the late David Koch. It is now led by Charles Koch's longtime political operative Emily Seidel.
Why did AFP Action endorse Nikki Haley over Donald Trump?
In November 2023, AFP Action announced an endorsement of Nikki Haley for the Republican presidential nomination, citing Trump's positions on trade, immigration, and federal spending as out of step with the Koch network's free-market platform. The endorsement was an unprecedented break with the Republican frontrunner by a major GOP-aligned organization.
Who funds AFP Action?
AFP Action's largest disclosed donor is industrialist Charles Koch, whose family fortune comes from Koch Industries, the second-largest privately held company in the United States. The PAC also receives substantial transfers from the Stand Together Chamber of Commerce, the Koch network's 501(c)(6) trade-association vehicle.
